Diné Studies Program

To prepare students to articulate Nitsáhákees, Nahat'á, Iiná and Sih Hasin through T'áá Hó Ájít'éego (taking responsibility for ones education).

NITSÁHÁKEES: Diné Studies graduates will have knowledge about:

A. Critical interpretations and thinking, theoretical analysis and reasoning; used to compare and contrast as these relate to Navajo language, culture, history and government.
1. Present an argument based on theory. (NIS 220, NIS 221, NIS 225)
2. An ability to synthesize and integrate information and ideas. (NIS 111, NIS 221)
3. An ability to think holistically, to see the whole as well as the specific parts. (NIS 111, NIS 371, NIS 311)
4. To learn concepts, facts, terms, and theories. (NIS 221, NIS 226)
B. Develop students professional knowledge and skills to analyze alternative solution through logic and creativity.
