My name is Dewayne Sarracino and my clans are Red Cheeks people, born for Coyote Pass people. I was born and raised in Wheatfields,AZ from the Kedelty Family. I Went to High School in Holbrook, Az and graduated there, before coming to back to, then call Navajo Community College and joined the Rodeo Team under coach Pat Sanchez as a bull-rider and team roper. I continued my education at Northern Arizona University under the Construction Management field as my major.
My focus is student education and helping them meet their goals in their higher education needs as a coach. Education was always a major concern to my grandparents, mother, and family, they have always told me "it's up to you to meet your goals and expectation in life" and "we will support you in whatever you decide in life", from completing your education to rodeo. They always supported me in my education and always told me "rodeo will always be there" and to make something of myself.
In return I would like to help students focus on their needs to better themselves with a degree, knowing that someone was there to support them in meeting their goals in life. As a coach my goals are to help these students out one day at a time or one rodeo at a time. To help them meet their expectations to return someday, as a role model for younger kids, peers, and the Diné people to look up to; knowing it can be done if you set your mind to what you set out to do and goals are set to meet them with desire and effort.
There's always an encouragement or dire to do better by the support you give to the students by your words or applause, so come support the Diné College Rodeo Team.
