This new five-year granting period began on October 1, 2005 and will end on September 30, 2010. The aim of the project is to develop our capacity to achieve four-year status by strengthening mission-driven teaching and learning. The objectives are three-fold:

- Provide faculty support services so as to improve teaching and student learning on an annual basis in all academic programs and enable at least ten individuals to earn Bachelor's or Master's Degrees and at least five to earn Doctorates from accredited programs in appropriate fields by the end of the project period.
- Develop, assess, and revise as needed infrastructure, policies, and curricula in selected programs so as to implement asynchronous distance education in at least 30 courses by the end of the project period.
- Attain a Change of Institutional Status from two- to four-year by the end of the project period by providing instructional, administrative, and policy support for the B.A. partnership program with Arizona State University in teacher education.
