ABOUT THE FUNDRAISER

Renew the Fireplace of Knowledge

The element of fire is sacred to Navajo people. At Diné College, the Kinyaa’áanii Library is considered the fireplace of knowledge. It is the illuminating witness to the growth and development of Navajo education.  Since the library opened its doors in 1974, researchers, students, faculty, local and campus community members have convened in this space to study and strive to meet their research and information needs.

With the launch of this campaign, Diné College will begin the transformation of the Kinyaa’áanii Library to become a library of the future. With new technology, active work spaces, and a creative layout this library will boost our research potential, support academic endeavors, and become a hub for community and academic growth.
