RENEW THE FIREPLACE OF KNOWLEDGE Kinyaa’áanii Library Campaign

The seeds of Navajo education were planted in remembrance of the unfailing efforts of our elders, who foresaw a vibrant future for our people at Diné College. In line with the planting season, we are asking you to help us plant the seeds for the renewal of our college’s fireplace. We aim to raise $1.5 million for library renovations, which will begin in the Summer of 2021.

Renew the Fireplace of Knowledge-Kinyaa’áanii Library Campaign

The element of fire is sacred to Navajo people. At Diné College, the Kinyaa’áanii Library is considered the fireplace of knowledge. It is the illuminating witness to the growth and development of Navajo education.  Since the library opened its doors in 1974, researchers, students, faculty, local and campus community members have convened in this space to study and strive to meet their research and information needs.

With the launch of this campaign, Diné College will begin the transformation of the Kinyaa’áanii Library to become a library of the future. With new technology, active work spaces, and a creative layout this library will boost our research potential, support academic endeavors, and become a hub for community and academic growth.

Our Goal – $1,500,000

Help us renew the fireplace of knowledge with needed renovations to the Kinyaa’áanii Library in Tsaile, AZ.  This fundraising campaign will run until the end of 2020.

Your gift will nurture learning endeavors of our students and faculty, but also provide a strong foundation for Diné nation building. The facility upgrades will not only reinforce safety, but it will foster collaborative learning for all who step through its doors.
