Mary Begay attended Diné College to pursue her college credits in Business Administration during the late 1970s and 1980s. Her time as a student provided her with valuable knowledge and skills that she applied in her professional career. Marie’s educational journey at Diné College reflects her commitment to personal growth and her dedication to supporting the Navajo Nation.

Floyd Begay worked at Diné College from 1976 to 1995, dedicating nearly two decades to the institution. He began his career as a janitor on campus, ensuring a clean and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. Later, Floyd transitioned to working in the North Bookstore, where he supported the operations and helped students access the materials they needed for their education. His hard work and dedication made him a valued member of the college community.
Mary Begay also made significant contributions to Diné College, working in the Human Resources Department from 1976 to 1995. In her role, she supported the college’s administrative functions, helping to manage personnel and ensure smooth operations within the institution. Her dual role as a student and employee showcased her determination and commitment to both her education and her work.
The Begays have witnessed Diné College evolve from its earlier days into the thriving institution it is today. They recall a time when the campus was smaller, with fewer buildings and resources. Floyd and Mary worked under the leadership of several administrators, including the late Dr. D.C. Jackson and others whose names remain fondly in their memories.
