I was born and raised in Chinle, Arizona. Throughout my K-12 years, I attended schools within the Chinle Unified School District. After graduating from high school, I went on to achieve my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a certificate in Ethnicity, Migration, and Rights at Harvard University.
I am pleased and honored to have been hired as the new Student Activities Specialist at Diné College. I am excited to work closely with our residential and commuter students to create a safe and inclusive space for all. I strive to cultivate a close-knit community among students, ensuring their success in the classroom and beyond.
I’ve come to understand that community, especially K’é, is a vital aspect of life. The importance of community was strengthened while I was at Harvard.
The Harvard University Native American Program provided a home away from home for me and other Indigenous students. I hope to give the same level of safety, connection, belonging, and family for all students while serving as a Student Activities Specialist at Diné College.
While at Harvard, I was a part of the Undergraduate Planning Committee in the Department of Psychology. We planned events specifically targeting first-year students and those with undeclared concentrations.
I also interned at the Harvard University Native American Program, where I assisted staff with culturally rooted student events. Currently, I serve on the Harvard Powwow Committee for the upcoming 27th Harvard Powwow, scheduled for September.
I am extremely happy to be able to return home and work among my people. I am looking forward to creating lasting memories with those who step on Diné College’s campus
