Claudia Edgewater Sworn in as Regent of Diné College Board of Regents

    TSAILE, Ariz., June 20, 2025. Claudia Edgewater, Acting Superintendent of the Department of Diné Education, was officially sworn in to serve on the Diné College Board of Regents today. The ceremony took place in the Diné College Board of Regents Conference Room, marks a significant addition to the Board’s leadership.

    Edgewater, joins the Board as an ex-officio member, a role she assumes by virtue of her position as Superintendent. She is of the Coyote Pass clan, born for Reed People clan. Her maternal grandfather is of Chiricahua Apache descent, and her paternal grandfather is of the Water’s Edge People clan. A native of Greasewood Springs, Arizona, Edgewater has an extensive background in education, having served in various leadership roles over her career.

    Her new role with the Diné College Board of Regents emphasizes her dedication to advancing education throughout the Navajo Nation. The Board plays a vital role in shaping the college’s initiatives, ensuring that they align with the needs and goals of Diné students and communities.
