    Biography

    A U.S. Navy veteran, mother, and sophomore at Dine College. Tah is very excited to be running for ASDC President. Enlisting into the U.S. Navy as an Intelligence Analyst at age 17, Tah was stationed in Panama, New Jersey, Virginia, United Arab Emirates, Washington D.C., and completed over 500 hours of volunteer work with the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia. While in the military, Tah was a command Victim Advocate for over seven years, where she assisted victims throughout the criminal process by providing information, support, and resources. Her passion to serve her country and community has led to her receiving the President’s Volunteer Service Award and the Bronze Medal from former President Barack Obama. After her military serve, Tah returned to her local community to volunteer as a Parent Volunteer at Canyon de Chelly Elementary School and Chinle Junior High School. Tah completed volunteer experience as a Sheriff’s Posse Captain with Northern Apache County, helping communities with providing services in Search & Rescue, Traffic/Crowd Control and Traditional Ceremonies on the Navajo Reservation. Tah has experience with fund raising and organizing a Poker Run, Bingo, Trail Ride, Shoe Game and Country Western Dance. Currently serving as a Navajo Nation Veterans Advisory Council, she provided advice, recommendations, and policy input on veteran’s issues and concerns to the Navajo Nation President Dr. Buu Nygren. While at Dine College, Tah has received 2 Academic Achievement Awards from her Professors and made the Dean’s List twice. Tah has shown sincere interest in education and a natural ability to connect with others. She recognizes the importance of creating a fair, inclusive, and structured environment where learning can thrive.

    Primary Focuses:

    Implement initiatives to address campus and facilities related concerns (student parking lot lights, beautification of campus, improve facilities/parking locations to better fit the needs of disabled people)

    Collaborate with DC employees to improve basic housing and food services.

    Increase resources and childcare services for student parents.

    To collaborate with DC employees to evaluate current institutional policies and procedures to ensure that students are entitled to quality institutional services.
