Diné College Appoints Wyatt Davis as Head Coach for Cross-Country and Track Teams

    TSAILE, Ariz. Diné College has named Wyatt Davis as the new head coach for its cross-country and track programs. Davis brings four years of coaching experience and a background as a collegiate athlete to the role.

    Davis, who is from Wheatfields, AZ, previously served as both Head Coach and Assistant Coach for cross-country and track at Navajo Pine High School for the past four years. A graduate of Navajo Pine High School, his own collegiate journey included running at Bacone College in Muskogee, OK, where he studied Liberal Arts. He also attended Northern Arizona University and Diné College.

    Davis shared his enthusiasm for the new position and his vision for the teams. He aims to build a strong program and create a supportive environment for the student-athletes.

    “I am looking forward to working with you all and building a strong team,” Davis said. “I know some of you student-athletes are nervous about this season, but I reassure you that it will be okay and that we will have a fun and exciting season.”

    Davis, whose clans are Tó’aheedlíinii (Water Flow Together People), born for Bit’ahnii (Folded Arms Clan), with Tótsohnii (Big Water People) as his maternal grandfather’s clan and Tó’áhaní (Near the Water People) as his paternal grandfather’s clan, is set to begin working with the student-athletes next week.
