Diné College Shiprock Branch Campus Engages Farmington Community at Connie Mack World Series Parade

FARMINGTON, NM. Diné College’s Shiprock Branch Campus proudly participated in the annual Connie Mack World Series Parade today, connecting with the Farmington, NM community and surrounding areas to highlight the diverse educational opportunities available at the College.

A dedicated team representing various departments, including Operations and Maintenance, IT, Office of External Campuses, and Admissions collaborated to create an engaging presence at the parade. Their efforts included constructing a vibrant float that celebrated the spirit of baseball and softball, complemented by a specially curated playlist featuring baseball-themed music that energized the crowd.

Several summer interns also lent their valuable support, assisting with the College’s outreach efforts. The Diné College team actively engaged with parade-goers through fun activities, including dance competitions and “guess the song” from their playlist, successfully building excitement and interaction. Promotional items, candy, and water were distributed to the steady crowd, further enhancing the festive atmosphere.

“It was truly wonderful to see so many community members out enjoying the parade,” said Winifred Jumbo, Director of External Campuses. “We thoroughly enjoyed showcasing the unique opportunities Diné College offers and sharing information about our upcoming registration deadlines and the first day of courses. Our goal is to empower individuals through education, and events like these allow us to connect directly with those we aim to serve.”
