Window Rock High School Dual Credit Academic Awards

WINDOW ROCK, Ariz.—Window Rock High School celebrated students enrolled in the Diné College Dual Credit program at the annual academic awards ceremony, Tuesday, May 5, 2026. Over 70 WRHS students successfully accumulated college credits while concurrently maintaining their academic performance in high school. Each student was recognized with a Certificate of Achievement for their hard work and commitment to their higher education and academic goals.

The award ceremony was led by Bearren Kee, a Window Rock High School senior and student-athlete, who completed several Diné College Dual Credit courses and is set to attend Fort Lewis College to study psychology in the fall.

“I think [dual credit] really gave me a jumpstart on my college career because I got to take care of my prerequisite classes, like English, History, Psychology, Sociology…going into my freshman year, I’ll be more prepared with college credits,” says Kee.

The ceremony not only recognized the achievements of students taking college-level courses, but instructors who were instrumental in leading many of the students toward success. Tyrell Harvey, Sherri Miller, and Marilou Joson, taught several different courses as part of the Diné College Dual Credit curriculum and were awarded for their outstanding impact on student’s dual credit journey.

Tyrell Harvey, a Marketing Instructor for Window Rock High School and the Diné College Dual Credit program, was also recognized for his support in leading students toward success in business, entrepreneurship, and marketing. Harvey not only teaches coursework for the Diné College Dual Credit program but is an advisor for the Window Rock High School DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America) student organization.

Irish O’Gleason, a manager for DECA, Cheer Captain, and now graduating senior, was one of the many students Harvey mentored. Gleason completed four marketing courses with Mr. Harvey over the course of two years. O’Gleason also took classes in English and Psychology and plans to continue her education at Coconino Community College in pursuit of an associatedegree in general health science.

When asked about what kept O’Gleason motivated, she said, “my mom was my biggest motivation in my life, [she] always pushed me to do my best.” Irish mentioned the security she felt in, “knowing that I was creating a better future for myself with Dine College.”
