Diné College's Nits'áá dóó ídahwiil'aah fellow share artistic journey

TSAILE, AZ – Diné College invited students and faculty to join an innovative Augmented Reality (AR) project designed to enhance learning and creativity through cutting-edge technology. It was held on the first floor of the NHC building at its Tsaile Campus.
Akilah Martinez, Diné College's Nits’ą́ą́dóó Ídahwiil’aah fellow, is known for her expertise in integrating augmented reality within artistic frameworks that integrate Indigenous language and culturally appropriate content. Attendees had the opportunity to hear Martinez discuss her artistic journey while showcasing her work, including a Diné Bizaad video and AR Project called DigiNewMex, which includes 7 Indigenous languages that can be found in New Mexico.
Martinez introduced the concept of Social Impact and Economic Equality through XR, providing participants with insights into this transformative approach. This event represents a unique chance for students and faculty to collaborate on a project that merges art with technology, fostering an environment of innovation and learning. Diné College encourages anyone interested in exploring technological advancements and their societal impacts to participate in this collaborative experience.
