Let Us Welcome Ethan Healing Weight Room Coordinator, Diné College
Ethan Healing is the new Weight Room Coordinator at Diné College, where he blends his academic training in public health with a genuine passion for wellness and community engagement. His surname traces back to Polacca, the region his great grandfather called home. Ethan is of the Bitterwater clan and the Towering House clan.
Ethan began his journey at Diné College in the fall of 2021, immediately after high school. He earned an Associate of Science in Health Occupations and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Public Health. This academic path aligns closely with his role, as he works to promote wellness across campus through exercise and physical activity, helping students find balance alongside their coursework.
An athlete from an early age, Ethan played football and baseball throughout high school. After graduation, running became a personal hobby that kept him active and grounded. His interest in health also grew through the influence of his older siblings, some of whom work in the health field, spanning massage therapy, medical assisting, and fitness.
Before stepping into his current position, Ethan served as an Athletics intern. In that role, he helped keep campus facilities open on weekends and into the evening, ensuring students had reliable access to spaces that supported their goals. That experience shaped his understanding of the Athletics program and deepened his commitment to serving the college community.
As Weight Room Coordinator, Ethan is focused on enhancing the Athletics program, developing a new weight room following the loss of the previous facility in a campus fire, and increasing student engagement in the rebuilding process. He values student feedback and wants the new space to feel like it truly belongs to the students, staff, and faculty who use it.
Ethan believes physical activity supports more than the body. Regular movement contributes to better rest, sharper focus, lower stress, and stronger emotional and mental wellness. His message to those beginning their fitness journey is simple: it does not have to be done alone. With guidance from the Athletic staff and the support of the wider community, every goal is within reach.
Ethan gratefully acknowledges the past and current supervisors who guided him throughout his time with Diné College Athletics, whose mentorship helped him grow into the role he holds today.
