Window Rock Center Commemorates Earth Day with Successful Adopt-A-Highway Cleanup Event

WINDOW ROCK, Ariz. April 22, 2026. The Window Rock Center finished its annual Adopt-A-Highway trash pickup today along Arizona Highway 264 to celebrate Earth Day. This special event shows how much the center cares about keeping our community clean and taking care of the environment.

The Window Rock Center works together with the Arizona Department of Transportation to help keep part of Highway 264 clean. Every year, volunteers from the center pick up trash along the road at least three times. This partnership helps keep public spaces nice for everyone and protects plants and animals nearby.

During the Earth Day cleanup, volunteers picked up a lot of litter from the sides of the road. Their teamwork made a real difference. Taking away this trash keeps the area safer and cleaner for people and animals that travel or live along the highway.

After the success of today’s cleanup, the Window Rock Center is inviting more people to help out at the next event. Another trash pickup is planned for July, and the organizers hope even more people from the community will join them. Helping with the cleanup is a great way to make our neighborhood better and show that you care about the environment.

More information about the exact date, time, and meeting place for July’s clean-up will be shared soon. www.dinecollege.edu
